Food For Friends "A ministry providing a meal for anyone in need"Update on Meal Delivery
As of September 2011, we now feed more than 40 Friends every day.
Thank you to all our volunteers who make this ministry possible!
Mission Statement - Food For Friends
"Food For Friends enhances the quality of independent living by providing affordable,
nutritious home-delivered meals, through a church-supported ministry and caring volunteers."
Here in 2011, "Food For Friends" is First United Methodist Church's way of reaching people in need. We are not trying to take the place of any other meal delivery programs in the community. We are only trying to take care of indviduals that other programs can't reach. With the help of volunteers, groups, and corporate volunteers, who knows where this will lead us. Delivering throughout Clermont and some surrounding areas, we have individuals who are going without eating because of circumstances we can't imagine. Volunteers provide the human touch that means so much to a homebound person. If you have a morning you can volunteer, please contact Chef David Earl or Cheryl Gierman at 352-243-4016. This is a great way to get involved and help provide for our community.
We deliver meals that are prepared at the Wesley Center 5 days a week.
Keep in mind basic requirements for a meal delivery:
1. Someone Homebound
2. Family member or caregiver has contacted us on someone's behalf
3. Widow or Widower that can't prepare a meal
4. Someone recuperating from a medical condition
